The rainy season and the approaching El Niño phenomenon have contributed to the surge in cases, with the country reporting double the number of infections compared to the same period last year.

Dengue fever, a viral infection transmitted by female mosquitoes of the Aedes genus, is prevalent during Thailand's May-through-September rainy season. This year, the outbreak has taken a particularly severe turn. Two dengue vaccines are currently available in Thailand: Dengvaxia and Dengvaxia, offering some hope amidst the growing concern.
