Keir Starmer: British Politician and Leader of the Labour Party

Early Life and Education

Keir Rodney Starmer was born on September 2, 1962, in London, England. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Leeds in 1985 and gained a postgraduate Bachelor of Civil Law.

Political Career

Starmer's political career began in the 1990s when he served as Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service. He was elected as a Labour MP in 2015 and held several shadow cabinet positions under Jeremy Corbyn.

In April 2020, Starmer was elected as Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. He is the first person to hold both positions since Tony Blair.

Personal Life

Starmer is married to Victoria Starmer, a lawyer, and they have two children. He is a keen supporter of Arsenal Football Club.
